The High Emotions of Poker
I'm playing poker in a bar league in Texas, and we're down to two table when I draw pocket aces. One person raises, everybody folds around to me and I reraise three times the bet and get smooth called.
The flop comes out Kh,As,10s. My opponent checks i place a small bet and get raised twice my bet, the guy has been fairly tight so I don't see him raising with a flush draw and ponder if he has a straight then call.
The turn is the king of spades giving me a boat. He checks and i check, the river comes… the last black ace and I am overwhelmed he bets about a third of his stack and sit still for a moment then go all-in and get quickly called.
I flip my quads with a smile and he turns the j and queen of spade for a royal. No money involved just a league but definitely the high and the emotions of poker.
